Kumihimo Craft — Teens & Tweens

Open to 4th-12th grade. Drop in  and learn the Japanese art of kumihimo, used by samurai to create lacing for their armor. We'll scale down the technique and make unique friendship bracelets or bookmarks. Note: 4th-5th grade projects will be available in the Children's Department. 6th-12th grade projects will be available in the Teen Room.

Open to 6-12th grade. Studies show that coloring can relieve stress, and make you feel happier and more creative. Well, it's National Coloring Day, if you needed an excuse to send the day with crayons, markers, and colored pencils. Bring a friend and enjoy a coloring sheet or two.

Preparing Your Child to Read — Adults

Bring your child, birth to 5 years old and come learn the strategies that can be used to develop skills for learning to read. The children will play while the adults learn, then they will practice the skills they learn with their child.
