Donate

An easy way that our community can help our libraries is by donating materials, funds, or by volunteering.

Donate Materials

Each of our libraries accepts donations of gently used books, movies, magazines, and other media. Anything that our library cannot add to the collection is given to the Friends of the Library to be placed in their used book sales. Money earned in the book sales comes back to help pay for library programs and materials.

If you are interested in donating a large amount of items, please contact the library ahead of time. Branches may set times and days during which they accept donations to ensure someone is available to assist.

Occasionally, we may put out a call for donations of particular items, either to benefit a community cause or to help with library programs. Examples include asking for building blocks for our LEGO® day programs or toiletries to go to the local Family Crisis Centers. These requests will always include a brief explanation of what the items will be used for.

Donate Money

We love the support we get from our community, including donations of money. If you are interested in donating money, you are welcome to specify an area you would like the money to be spent. Please let us know at the time of donation if you would like us to include recognition. Forms of recognition might include bookplates in the front of a book, logos on flyers for events, or a shout out on social media.

Tax-Deductible Donations

Donations made to the library may be eligible for tax deductions. When dropping off materials, you should be offered a form stating that we received your donation. It is up to the donor to determine the quantity and the value of items.
