All of the Northwest Georgia Regional Libraries welcome adults! We classify the “adult” age group as 18 years and older.
Our materials for adults cover a wide variety of genres and topics, many of which may have themes inappropriate for younger children. We always recommend that caregivers assist their kids and teens in choosing reading and viewing materials if there are concerns about content. To find materials suitable for adults, check out the main parts of the library. For help finding the perfect item for you, please ask a staff member.
Adults are invited to enjoy the main seating areas in each of our libraries as well as join their kids and teens in their departments. Types of materials for checkout in the adult sections include fiction and non-fiction books, large print books, audiobooks, movies, and music.
Inside the main seating areas, we have tables and chairs, often with nearby outlets for people taking advantage of the wireless internet. We also have magazines and puzzles. We invite all library users to use library materials throughout the library, including games and activities from other departments.
We provide computers in various areas throughout each of our libraries. In Dalton-Whitfield County Public Library, we have a Technology Lab downstairs as well as some express computers upstairs. Calhoun-Gordon County Public Library and Chatsworth-Murray County Public Library both have computer areas designated for most computer usage. For more information about the computers available, visit our Services Page.
Libraries are often no longer quiet, but if you need somewhere quiet to work, please ask a staff member for help finding the perfect spot.
Events for adults are for ages 18 and older unless otherwise specified.
