For immediate release:

Due to current guidance from public health officials and in the interest of protecting the populations we serve, library officials are issuing the service modifications and suspensions below:

Effective immediately, beginning Wednesday, November 25, 2020, and continuing until the crisis in Whitfield, Gordon and Murray county areas has lessened.  The library will monitor the public health situation and reopen curbside services, book returns and outdoor computing as soon as it is possible to do so safely. The library staff and boards of trustees of the Northwest Georgia Regional Library wish you each a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday.

Service Modifications:

  • NGRL will waive fines for any items due to our library system during this time, and will not charge any additional fines for the duration.
  • NGRL will provide expanded wireless access in the parking lot for patrons to use mobile devices in their vehicles. Please follow all social distancing rules in parking areas.
  • All NGRL locations will be closed to the public, no curbside services or computing will be available after this Tuesday at 6PM close of business.

The library will continue to follow recommendations from public health officials and the Governor’s office as the crisis progresses. Library users can stay updated on changes to library services on our website at https://ngrl.org and our social media.

Our book return dropboxes will be closed during this time. We ask that patrons keep materials until we re-open.
Wireless internet is available in the parking lot of the Dalton-Whitfield County Public Library using SSID: DaltonPubLib or DaltonTemp. There is no password.
It is also available at Calhoun-Gordon Library’s blue picnic tables and in the first few parking spaces. SSID: CalhounPubLib; Password: 100parkave

If you don’t know the GALILEO password, you can access GALILEO through https://gapines.org and log in to your library account with your library card number and PIN. The PIN is often the last 4 digits of your phone number.
