Book to Movie Series @ GEM Theatre

Open to all ages. We are partnering with the GEM Theatre for a Book to Movie Series this summer. These classic films will be appropriate for various ages. Held at GEM Theatre (114 N Wall St., Calhoun, GA 30701).

• Thursday, June 13 @ 1 p.m. & 7 p.m. – The Wizard of Oz: Book written by L. Frank Baum and released in 1900; movie directed by Victor Fleming and released in 1971
• Thursday, June 20 @ 1 p.m. & 7 p.m. – Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory:  Book written by Roald Dahl and released in 1964; movie directed by Mel Stuart and released in 1971
• Thursday, June 27 @ 1 p.m. & 7 p.m. – The Outsiders: Book written by S.E. Hinton and released in 1967; movie directed by Francis Ford Coppola and released in 1983
• Thursday, July 11 @ 1 p.m. & 7 p.m. – Dune: Book written by Frank Herbert and released in 1965; movie directed by David Lynch and released in 1984
• Thursday, July 18 @ 1 p.m. & 7 p.m. – Flash Gordon: Created by Alex Raymond and first published in 1934; movie directed by Mike Hodges and released in 1980
