Chromebooks for Checkout @ NGRL

Did you know that you can check out a Chromebook from any of the three Northwest Georgia Regional Library System branches?

Through funding provided in part by the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget using American Rescue Plan Act Funds and the Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS), libraries across Georgia have chromebooks available to take home using your library card!

Borrow a Chromebook from the library to get work done from home, school, or on the go for up to two weeks. Use it in the library or in the library parking lot to access free wireless internet. Our library system is fine-free, so if you need it for a few extra days, you won’t be charged any overdue fines; alternatively, return it and check out a new one!

Google Chromebooks are laptops that are designed to be light and easy to use. They are entirely browser-based, so Internet is required for most features. Use most free cloud-based storage systems to save your files, or use a flashdrive.

Use library Chromebooks to:

  • Learn coding through Fiero Code
  • Explore the basics of AI through Learn with Google certifications
  • Read eBooks or eMagazines through Libby or the Palace Project, or eRead Kids
  • Listen to eAudiobooks through Libby, the Palace Project, Blackstone Unlimited, or eRead Kids
  • Watch streaming movies and TV shows through Kanopy
  • Create a resume using Google Docs or LearningExpress Library’s Resume Builder
  • Practice typing and other computer skills
  • Apply for benefits, access your emails, connect via social media, and so much more

To find out more or check out one of the Chromebooks, drop by one of our branches and we’ll get you started!
