Dalton-Whitfield Library presents a Summer Reading Program for Teens and Children: Martial Arts Showcase on July 11th at 11:00 am

While many events are available at different locations, the Martial Arts Showcase will only be available at the Dalton-Whitfield County Library on July 11th at 11:00am.
Dalton-Whitfield Library presents a Summer Reading Program: Comic Book Artist Kyle Puttkammer on July 2nd
The creator of “Galaxy Man”, Kyle will show kids and teens what it takes to make a comic book. Don’t forget to check in for your weekly prize and a chance to win a grand prize. Check-ins stop 15 minutes before the show and begin again after the show ends.

How to enter:
Read at least one book on sports/sportsmanship, then register
for the Home Run Readers program and complete the grade appropriate online activity. Print off your certificate and bring it to the library to receive a redeemable code!

Prize: A free youth ticket with the purchase of at least 1 adult ticket to a 2015-16 Atlanta Hawks regular season game and a bookmark

Qualifications: Open to Georgia students in grades K-12.
How to enter: Read at least five books, then register for the Check It Out program. Expect an e-mail with your ticket information in October at the start of the Hawks’ season!

Dalton-Whitfield Library will be have a late opening: Saturday, May 9th at 10:30am
Due to the Bill Gregory race, which will be taking place on Waugh street and other surrounding streets, Dalton-Whitfield Library will be delaying its opening. This will hopefully allow staff members and patrons to get to the building without difficulties from road closings.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this might cause. The library will still close at 1:30pm, and the computer lab will still close at 1:15 pm.
Dalton-Whitfield Library will be hosting an author visit from Chris Cructcher: May 11th from 4:30 – 6:30pm
Come find out how Chris Crutcher, author of many teen and YA books, came to be the author he is today! He will read from one of his books and then participate in discussion. This reading and discussion is free to the public, so join us! This event is for teens in 6-12th grade.

Dalton-Whitfield Library presents a Teen DIY Night: Lego Challenge
Do you like to build things? Did you play with Legos as a kid? Come show off your real-world building skills in this challenge! We’ll provide the legos. Teens in 6th-12th grade only, please!
Dalton-Whitfield Library presents Drop-In Activities for Teens
We know your schedule can get too busy to come in at a set time. Drop by any time during the following weeks to do a quick, self-guided activity that you get to take home with you!
All NGRL Libraries (Dalton, Calhoun, and Chatsworth) will be closed will be closed all day on Thursday, February 26th due to weather
The library will be closed all day due to the inclement weather. Stay safe and stay warm!
When the library is closed, you can always renew your items online and check out ebooks, eaudiobooks, and emagazines from our Digital Media page using your library card and PIN.
