DW – CLOSED due to Inclement Weather

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be closed today, Saturday, January 23, 2016 due to the inclement weather and icy conditions.

We hope everyone stays safe and warm during this potential weather. We do ask that you do not use the bookdrops unless you feel it is safe to drive. We don’t want anyone to risk their safety! All events have been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.

During this time, eBooks and eAudiobooks will be available for download. Check our Digital Media Page for more information. All you need is a library card and a PIN number.

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be closing at 4:00pm on Friday, January 22, 2016 due to the forecasted inclement weather.

DW – Teen Zombie Makeup

Dalton-Whitfield County Library presents a teen program: Zombie Makeup on February 5, 2016 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm

The movie Pride and Prejudice and Zombies produced by Lionsgate Films will be coming out on February 5th. To celebrate, we’re offering Zombie Makeup at the library for teens. For 6th – 12th graders, only.

Whitfield county schools are closing, and to protect the community and the staff, Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be closed due to the weather. All events scheduled for today will be postponed.

DW – Teen: Cardboard Carnival

Dalton-Whitfield Library presents a teen program: Cardboard Carnival on January 29th from 4:00pm – 5:30pm.

Use cardboard, adhesives, and string to create cardboard versions of arcade games, such as ski ball, ping-pong machines, and foosball. Once you’re done, it’s time to play!

DW – Teen: Minecraft-Inspired Party (Fandom Friday)

Dalton-Whitfield Library presents a teen Fandom Friday program: Minecraft-Inspired Party on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 4:30pm – 5:30pm

Snack on Minecraft inspired food and create your own wearable “Creeper”-style heads out of cardboard. Then, see who wins a lego building challenge! This is a resecheduling of an event postponed by weather.

DW – Teen: DIY Manga Hair Clips

Dalton-Whitfield Library presents a teen program: DIY Manga Hair Clips on Thursday, March 31st from 5:30pm – 6:00pm.

Create hair clips using markers and paper that resemble different manga expressive icons. This is a rescheduled event that was postponed due to weather.

DW – Teen Author Meet: Dan Jolley

Dalton-Whitfield Library presents a teen program: Meet Author, Dan Jolley, on January 14, 2016 from 4:30pm – 5:30pm

Local author, Dan Jolley, will meet and speak with teens about the process of writing and how it differs across different formats. He has written for DC Comics, multiple video games, novels, manga, and is currently working on a TV Pilot.

Dalton-Whitfield Library Presents a Teen Program: No Talent Required Art – Typography Canvas on January 11th, 2016 from 5:30pm – 6:30 pm.

Come create a canvas art piece that you can take home using canvas, mod-podge, old books, foam letters, and spray paint!
