DW – Teen Project Prom

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be hosting a teen event: Project Prom on Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 12:00pm – 1:00pm

Using recycled materials, we’ll be creating dresses which can be used for prom, or anything you desire. This is a free event with all materials provided. Teens in grades 6th – 12th only, please.

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be hosting a teen DIY event: College projects on Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 12:00pm – 1:00pm

For many seniors, it’s time to think about college. Come create different projects that might be useful in a dorm (or your room!). This is a free event with all materials provided. Teens in grades 6th – 12th only, please.

DW – YA Think Tank: Pop By & Try

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be hosting a teen Think Tank: Pop By & Try on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 5:30 – 6:30

Come celebrate Caramel Popcorn Day by learning to make flavored popcorn recipes (or make your own popcorn recipes) while hearing about what is going on for teens in the library. Tell us what you would like to see or do. This is a free event with all materials provided. Teens in grades 6th – 12th only, please.

Dalton-Whitfield County Library presents a Fandom event for teens: Faction Challenge Night on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 5:00pm – 6:00pm

Are you a fan of Veronica Roth’s Divergent series? Have you ever wondered what faction you’d fit into? Come find out and participate in fandom versions of factions.

DW – Teen Superhero Movie Night

Dalton-Whitfield County Library presents a movie night for teens: Superheroes on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Free popcorn will be available. The movie will be PG-13 and may include violence, language, and partial nudity. For more information or comments, questions and concerns, please contact Amy Hartline at 706-876-1360.

DW – Teen DIY Steam Projects in the LTTC

Dalton-Whitfield County Library presents a STEAM event for teens: DIY Steam Projects on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 5:00pm – 6:00pm

The Learning and Technology Training Center has new STEAM lockers, which have DIY crafts and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) projects for various age groups. Come explore the teen lockers and make something STEAM related. You’ll get to keep the projects you complete.

Teens in 6th – 12th grade only, please. We’ll be meeting in the classroom in the lower floor of the library.

Dalton-Whitfield County Library presents a teen program: Teen Think Tank on March 3, 2016 at 5pm

Teens in 6th – 12th grade, come create art to display in the YA room of the library while hearing what we have in store for you in the coming months.

DW – CLOSED due to weather

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be closed all day on February 10, 2016 due to the weather

Whitfield and Dalton schools are closed, so we have decided to take the safer route and close as well. Please stay warm and stay safe. Do not use the book drops unless you feel safe driving. Keep an eye on the website, Facebook, and TV9 for any updates.

During this time, if you have a working library card and PIN, you can always access our eBooks and eAudiobooks by going to our Digital Media Page.

DW – Teen DIY Touchscreen Gloves

Dalton-Whitfield County Library presents a teen event: DIY Touchscreen Gloves on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 4:30pm – 5:30pm

It’s cold outside – so come create touchscreen gloves that will work with your smartphones and other devices. All supplies will be provided. Teens in 6th – 12th grade only, please!
