Dalton-Whitfield Library presents International Game Day @ Your Library: Saturday, November 15th at 10:00am
Come to the library and play some games, including board games like Monopoly, Life, and Clue! Libraries across the country and the world will be hosting their own Game Days all around the same time. All ages are welcome and encouraged to join in.
For teens in 6-12th grade, there will be a Wii tournament. Drop by the library starting November 1st to sign up!
Dalton-Whitfield Library’s Teen Advisory Group will be meeting
Are you part of the TAG yet? If you’re between 12 and 18 and you want to play a role in how the library serves teens, come to the TAG! Do crafts, chat about what you’re reading, and help us serve you.
Dalton-Whitfield Library presents Sensational Science: Thursdays at 4pm
Kids of all ages from 0-18 are invited to join for some fun with science. To learn more and find out the theme for the week, contact Katie Fries at email@example.com.
Dalton-Whitfield Library and the Teen Advisory Group present a Zombie Makeup and Wounds event: Monday, October 27th at 5:30pm
All teens between 12-18 are invited to learn how to put on zombie make up and create fake wounds! It’s free to attend and snacks will be provided. Share your love of zombies and have some fun!
Dalton-Whitfield Library is reintroducing the Teen Advisory Group called TAG! The first meeting will be September 25, 2014 at 5:30pm
Teens between 6-12th grade are invited to join the TAG group. This is a volunteer opportunity that will allow you to help plan teen programs, give feedback on the library’s teen collection, and promote how great the library can be!
Snacks will be provided.
Dalton-Whitfield Library’s Computer Lab will be closed: Wednesday, September 24th at 5:00pm until Thursday, September 25th at 12:00pm
The staff at Dalton-Whitfield Library will use the closed time to move the Computer Lab to the Learning and Technology Training Center. When the Lab reopens, it will be on the 1st floor of the library. To reach the 1st floor, simply take the elevator down and then turn left.
The last log-in on the computers will be at 4:00pm and time will not be extended past 5:00pm.
We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience! Make sure you drop by the Grand Opening on September 30th from 3:30pm – 6:30pm. Learn more about the Grand Opening.
Dalton-Whitfield Library’s The Happiness Project presents the Chattanooga Symphony playing some upbeat music: October 30th at 5:30pm
Join the library and other members of the community in listening to some happy, upbeat music played by the Chattanooga Symphony.
While you’re here, make sure you pick up a fabric square for the Happiness Quilt. Draw or write what makes you happy on it and bring it back to the library so we can make a community-based quilt!

Adults and teens, join the library in reading and discussing books and then watching the movie! See below for the full schedule and the calendar for individual events. Kids, come to story time and explore what makes you happy!

October Children’s Program
Happy Harvest month! Children will explore what makes them happy during story times and enjoy upbeat music and movies.

- 30th at 6pm: Chattanooga’s Symphony
During the months of September through November, everyone is encouraged to submit a square to the library with what makes them happy written or drawn on it. These squares will be joined together to form the Happiness quilt. Library customers will be able to watch the quilt grow as new squares are added.
Dalton-Whitfield presents the Learning and Technology Training Center Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on September 30 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm! The Ribbon Cutting will be at 5:30 pm.
Dalton-Whitfield Library is working with other community organizations to offer the Learning and Technology Training Center. The computer lab will be moving into the center, and there will be technology-based classes available, as well as spaces for tutors to work with students and a sitting area with electrical outlets and free wireless internet! Drop by during the grand opening to see the new space, enjoy refreshments, and learn what the LTTC has to offer you.
Get a first look at the LTTC which will have:
- State of the art technology, including a 3-D printer
- Convertible classrooms/Makerspaces
- Comfortable seating area for laptop, tablet, and other wi-fi device use
- Computer lab
- Community Meeting Space
- Private Tutoring Rooms
- Free Computer and Job Training Classes

LTTC Grand Opening
Dalton-Whitfield Library will be hosting a Fine “Freedom” Day! July 7th, all day long!
Ever been scared about the fines on a book/movie/CD you’ve kept way over its overdue date? July 7th is the day to bring the item in! We will forgive any overdue fees for items returned on July 7th at the Dalton-Whitfield library. This does not include any fees for damages.
We look forward to seeing you after Independence day with your overdue books, movies, music and more!
