The Children’s Department has a few children’s computers and a few computers for adults with children. The five internet computers in the children’s area have all of the same features as the computer lab computers, with the added bonus of being in an area where children can be a little noisier and have entertainment.
In addition, the library now has two Early Learning Systems. These are touch-screen computers with 30 minute sessions that let kids play learning games. Come check them out!
Story time programs during the school year are scheduled for Tuesdays at 11:00 (Toddler Time), Wednesdays at 11:00, and Saturdays at 11:00 for R.E.A.D.S (ages 6 through 10). Also the last Tuesday of each month is Spanish story time.
Story time programs during the summer are scheduled for Wednesdays at 2:30pm.
(Please check our holiday schedule for closings).
Story time can be a child’s first experience with live performance unlike television or movies. We encourage participation in songs, finger plays, and as story helpers. Developing listening skills and expanding vocabulary is an essential part of your child’s education. Reading aloud helps prepare your child to read and provides fun and enjoyment.
Our goal is not only to entertain but prepare your child to be a lifelong reader and learner.
An adult must remain with children attending story time. If your child is disruptive, please remove them from the program so that others may not be disturbed.

Have a great Summer vacation and Keep Reading!
Family Movie Day
Join the library for our Family Movie Days! We’ll be watching movies on a big screen with free popcorn. Concessions will be available!
Check out our event calendar for dates and times, add us to Facebook for Event reminders, call the library at 706-876-1365 for titles and times, or grab a movie schedule in the library. Please note: We cannot put the titles of the movies on the internet so you will have to call or come in to get the movie showings.
