Calhoun-Gordon County Library presents: Read with a Therapy Dog on in August

Meet and read with Carl, Sophie, Peanut or Kavu throughout the month of August. Dates include:

  • August 4th – 4:00pm-5:30pm
  • August 9th – 4:00-5:30pm
  • August 18th – 4:00pm-5:30pm
  • August 23rd – 4:00pm-5:30pm

Is your child reluctant about reading because he or she feels shy or apprehensive? Reading aloud with an Alliance of Therapy Dog friend, will build up confidence and give a child a sense of ac-complishment. No appointments are needed, just come by during these times and enjoy being with a Therapy Dog.
(He is also available for free hugs to all ages!)

DW – Girls Who Code Impact Project: Random Chore Assignments

The Dalton-Whitfield County Library Girls Who Code Club created an Impact Project

Creators: Kenzie, Kadee, and Lydia
Project: Random Chore Assignments
Purpose: Assigns age-appropriate chores to different people based on user input. Input requires names, age-ranges, and chores.
Language: Created using Codester’s version of Python.

DW – Resume Writing Class / Clase sobre Escribiendo Profesionalmente

Dalton-Whitfield County Library presents a Resume Writing Class for adults and teens on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 5:00pm-6:00pm

Join us for an introductory course that provides tips on how to create Resumes and Cover Letters.

No registration is required. A Spanish-language translator will be available, courtesy of Dalton State College.

Join us to learn searching for websites and navigating the world wide web.

All Branches – Northwest Georgia Regional Library Board of Trustees Meeting @ Calhoun-Gordon County Library

The Northwest Georgia Library Board of Trustees will be meeting on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 beginning at 5:00pm

Board meetings are open to the public. The Northwest Georgia Regional Library Board of Trustees helps sets policies, schedules, budgets and more for all three branches of our library system. The meetings rotate locations.

CG – Dulcimer and Mandolin Concert for all ages

Calhoun-Gordon County Library will be hosting several musicians on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 3:30pm

Come hear Kathy Sproull, Janice Smith, and Jim & Sherry Patterson as they provide a musical performance which includes Appalachian instruments, the Dulcimer and the Mandolin.

DW – Adult Coloring Time (August 2016) / Tiempo para colorear por adultos (agosto 2016)

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be hosting an adult event: Coloring Time on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 and Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 3:00pm – 6:30pm

Drop by any time between 3pm and 6:30pm to enjoy free coloring pages, quiet music, and coffee. Enjoy some time to de-stress. This is a free event with all materials provided. Adults ages 18 and up only, please.
