DW – LTTC Computer Basics: Keyboardng (July 2016)

Dalton-Whitfield County Library’s LTTC presents a Computer Basics Class: Keyboarding on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 11:00am – 12:30pm and on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 4:00pm – 5:30pm

Become familiar with the keyboard and learn the home keys. No computer experience necessary for Computer Basics classes.

Registration is required for all LTTC classes. You can register in several different ways. Click the image below to fill out an online form, call the library at 706-876-2504, or drop by to pick up a paper form.

DW – Adult Yoga Class

Dalton-Whitfield County Library and Cindy Michaels present an Adult Yoga Class on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 5:30 – 6:30pm.

Yoga therapist Cindy Michaels will lead a free, one-hour yoga class at the Dalton-Whitfield County Public Library at 310 Cappes Street for all experience levels Tuesday, June 28 at 5:30 p.m.
The class will focus on gentle, restorative poses to help elicit the body’s natural relaxation response. Cindy will also teach ways to reduce stress, sharpen mental focus and sleep better through yoga.

Yoga mats and blankets are recommended.
(Mats will be provided if you don’t have one.)

DW – STEM Challenge for Kids and Teens

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will hosting an event for kids and teens of all ages: STEM Challenge on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 starting at 12:00pm

The STEM Challenge is an event for children of all ages! Children and teens from birth to 12th grade are encouraged to come and take part in activities that will encourage critical thinking skills, teamwork, and creative ingenuity. From there, the children will be broken up into groups according to their age/grade level. Once in their groups, they will be given challenges that will encourage them to work together to complete certain tasks.

We will have special guests in attendance that day to kick-off the event, including:

  • Richard Woods, State School Superintendent
  • Matt Jones, Chief of Staff
  • Caitlin Dooley, Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction
  • Julie Walker, State Librarian
  • other community members dedicated to learning and literacy!
