14+ Coffee House: Tuesday, June 10th @ 3:00pm
Teens 14 to 18 can come to the coffee house and enjoy some snacks. Teen writers can share a zombie or apocalypse survival story or poem, or readers can read from stories they enjoy.

Rising 6th graders to rising 12th graders will get to participate in a summer full of reading, art, and fun with our Summer Reading Program. Most events will be on Thursdays at 3:00pm at the library.

DW – Star Lab, Fizz, Boom, Read!

Dalton-Whitfield Library Presents the Star Lab for Fizz, Boom, Read!: Tuesday, June 10th @ 4 showings starting around 10:30am.

Star LabStar Lab: Tuesday, June 10th @ All Day
The Star Lab is a mobile planetarium that allows children to experience and learn more about stars, constellations, and our universe. The hour-long program will explain what stars are and introduce the Greek constellations so they can locate them in our own night sky. Children should register at the circulation desk before the program to make sure they get a seat in the age-appropriate program. Space is limited. There will be 4 showings. DW – Rocketry, Spark a Reaction

Dalton-Whitfield Library presents Rocketry for Spark a Reaction: Thursday, June 5th @ 12:00pm

RocketRocketry: Thursday, June 5th @ 12:00pm
The Southern Area Rocketry (SoAR) Association will be coming out to work with teens. Teens will learn about how rockets work, how to predict the heights they can reach, and more while making a model rocket. Once it’s decorated, teens and parents can head over to Heritage Park where we will be launching the rockets. Teens will get to keep their rockets when they are done! DW – Blast off, Fizz, Boom, Read!

Dalton-Whitfield Library Presents: Blast Off! Fizz, Boom, Read: Tuesday, June 3rd @ 10:30am.

RocketBlast Off Party!: Tuesday, June 3rd @ 10:30am
The Blast Off! Party will introduce the new and improved eight-week Summer Reading Club where children can earn prizes by reading and participating in a variety of science based programs. They will learn more about the robot building competition in which they can build robots out of anything to win prizes. There will be several special guests and a movie featuring a space bound robot who is in love with a sleek robot who has discovered that life can resume on the earth.

Read The Future of Us by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler and discuss the book with other teens. 14 and up, please.

DW – Library Resources (LTTC)

The Dalton-Whitfield Library will be offering a Library Resources (eBooks, digital magazines, and digital audiobooks) course this May. Registration is required and limited to 15 people per class. To register, visit the Learning and Technology Training Center’s Schedule.

Classes being offered:

Library Resources: eBooks- May 12th at 10am-12pm.
Library Resources: Zinio and OneClickDigital – May 14th at 10am-12pm.

The Dalton-Whitfield Library will be offering a Computer Basics course this May. Registration is required and limited to 15 people per class. To register, visit the Learning and Technology Training Center’s Schedule.
