Food For Fines 2016

All Northwest Georgia Regional Libraries will be participating in Food for Fines from November 1st – November 22nd

If you have fines on your library card but can’t quite get them paid, this is a great way to reduce those fines while helping others in need. Bring a non-perishable food item to the library and receive $1.00 off your fines. Food items must not be expired. Food items may not be able to help with lost or damaged items fees.

Food will be donated to the following locations, based on the library it is brought to:

  • Calhoun-Gordon County Library: Voluntary Action Center of Calhoun, Georgia
  • Chatsworth-Murray County Library: Helping Hands Food Pantry
  • Dalton-Whitfield County Library: City of Refuge

La biblioteca de Dalton-Whitfield presenta un programa para los niños en español: Tiempo de cuentos sábado, el 3 de diciembre y el 10 de diciembre a las 11:00 de la mañana

Este programa se ofrece 2-3 veces por mes por los sábados variados según el horario. Leemos 2-3 cuentos en español y hacemos una actividad divertida. Este programa lleva a cabo completamente en español.

Dalton-Whitfield County Library’s LTTC presents a Computer Basics Class: Microsoft Word 101 on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 11:00am – 12:30pm and on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 5:00pm – 6:30pm

Learn about Microsoft cursors, typing a document, and ribbons/tabs. No computer experience necessary for Computer Basics classes.

DW – Adult Coloring Time / Tiempo para Colorear por Adultos (November 2016)

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be hosting an adult event: Coloring Time on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 and Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 3:00pm – 6:30pm

Drop by any time between 3pm and 6:30pm to enjoy free coloring pages, quiet music, and coffee. Enjoy some time to de-stress. This is a free event with all materials provided. Adults ages 18 and up only, please.

A vampire has attacked in the library. Use forensic science skills to determine who the vampire is! Pre-registration is required. Teens in grades 6th-12th.

Take part in spooky science. Limit 20. No early sign-ups or registration. First come, first served. For children grades k-5th. Parents must be in attendance throughout the duration of the event.

La biblioteca de Dalton-Whitfield presenta un programa para los adultos: Hablemos de Comida, los miércoles, el 5, 12, 19, y 26 de octubre y el 2, 9, y 16 de noviembre a las 11:00 de la mañana

Ven y aprender cómo ahorrar dinero en comida y cómo preparar recetas para su familia que son rápidas, deliciosas, y económicas. Después de cada clase que usted toma recibirá un regalo. Si usted completa todas las siete clases usted recibirá un libro de recetas y un certificado. Solo esta ofrecido en español.
