Bug Out Picnic Enjoy a movie with a few six-legged friends trying to save their world from destruction. Bring a snack for munching after show time! Just don’t share with the bugs! Ask your parents to bring a blanket for your family to share. Please choose either the morning or afternoon showing to attend.

There will be a special presentation about rocks and fossils at each library. Participants will learn what a fossil is and how they got into rocks. Everyone will get to touch a piece of the past in this interactive program. The kit, provided by Tellus Museum, encourages children to ask questions about how rocks form, how fossils are created, and how fossils are found.

Chattanooga’s Zombie Response Team will be coming to the library to talk to teens about preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse and other disasters. Teens will learn about the tools and equipment necessary for survival, check out their Response Vehicle, and make a mini-survival kit. Kit supplies are provided for the first 20 teens to register. DW – Star Lab, Fizz, Boom, Read!

Dalton-Whitfield Library Presents the Star Lab for Fizz, Boom, Read!: Tuesday, June 10th @ 4 showings starting around 10:30am.

Star LabStar Lab: Tuesday, June 10th @ All Day
The Star Lab is a mobile planetarium that allows children to experience and learn more about stars, constellations, and our universe. The hour-long program will explain what stars are and introduce the Greek constellations so they can locate them in our own night sky. Children should register at the circulation desk before the program to make sure they get a seat in the age-appropriate program. Space is limited. There will be 4 showings. DW – Rocketry, Spark a Reaction

Dalton-Whitfield Library presents Rocketry for Spark a Reaction: Thursday, June 5th @ 12:00pm

RocketRocketry: Thursday, June 5th @ 12:00pm
The Southern Area Rocketry (SoAR) Association will be coming out to work with teens. Teens will learn about how rockets work, how to predict the heights they can reach, and more while making a model rocket. Once it’s decorated, teens and parents can head over to Heritage Park where we will be launching the rockets. Teens will get to keep their rockets when they are done!
