Dalton-Whitfield Library will be closed for the Memorial Day holidays on Saturday, May 28, 2016 and Monday, May 30, 2016
In order for our staff to spend Memorial Day with their family, Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be closed. Stay safe.
Remember, during that time our book drops will be open for returns and our eBooks and eAudiobooks will still be available. You can renew your items online as well!
Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be closed on Saturday, May 14, 2016 all day
Due to the Bill Gregory Race, which has routes along Cappes Street and Waugh Street, the library will be closed. During this time, it is very difficult to get to the library.
We will reopen on Monday, May 16th at 10:00am. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Dalton-Whitfield County Library presents an event: Community Garden Talk on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 1:30pm
Recently, some amazing 1st graders from Brookwood helped create a beautiful butterfly garden at the library. Join them for a brief presentation about butterfly gardents including how to care for it, which plants and butterflies to expect, and more. All ages are welcome to this event!
Dalton-Whitfield County Library celebrates the Star Wars fandom with May the 4th Be With You with programs for all ages on Wednesday, May 4th, 2016 from 5pm – 6:30pm
Children of all ages are encouraged to dress up as ther favorite Star Wars character and join in the fun as we make crafts and play.
Teen Think Tank Celebration
Teens in 6th – 12th grade will create mini Star Wars piñatas while discussing the library’s plans for the summer. All materials will be provided.
Adults are encouraged to dress as their favorite Star Wars characters and partake in a friendly game of trivia!
Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be hosting a kids program: Creation Station on Thursday, April 28, 2016, from 4:00pm – 5:00pm
This month, our topic is engineering. After some discussion, we’ll work in teams to participate in an egg drop challenge. Work together and use critical thinking skills and creative ingenuity to build a container that will protect an egg from a high fall. Participation is limited to 30 children and is first come, first served. No sign-up or early registration. This is a free event and all materials are provided. Kids from kindergarten to 5th grade only, please.
Note: Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class.

Join us for a family movie. There are 75 seats available for adults and children. First come, first served. There will be free popcorn. We no longer sell candy.
