DW – Book Discussion: Pursuit of Happyness – The Happiness Project

Dalton-Whitfield Library’s The Happiness Project presents a book discussion of Chris Gardner’s Pursuit of Happyness: October 7th at 6pm

Join the library and other members of the community in discussing Chris Gardner’s book, Pursuit of Happyness.

While you’re here, make sure you pick up a fabric square for the Happiness Quilt. Draw or write what makes you happy on it and bring it back to the library so we can make a community-based quilt!

DW – LTTC Grand Opening

Dalton-Whitfield presents the Learning and Technology Training Center Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on September 30 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm! The Ribbon Cutting will be at 5:30 pm.

Dalton-Whitfield Library is working with other community organizations to offer the Learning and Technology Training Center. The computer lab will be moving into the center, and there will be technology-based classes available, as well as spaces for tutors to work with students and a sitting area with electrical outlets and free wireless internet! Drop by during the grand opening to see the new space, enjoy refreshments, and learn what the LTTC has to offer you.

Get a first look at the LTTC which will have:

  • State of the art technology, including a 3-D printer
  • Convertible classrooms/Makerspaces
  • Comfortable seating area for laptop, tablet, and other wi-fi device use
  • Computer lab
  • Community Meeting Space
  • Private Tutoring Rooms
  • Free Computer and Job Training Classes
  • Collaborative Workspace

LTTC Grand Opening

DW – Computer Lab Closed

Dalton-Whitfield Library’s Computer Lab will be closed: Wednesday, September 24th at 5:00pm until Thursday, September 25th at 12:00pm

The staff at Dalton-Whitfield Library will use the closed time to move the Computer Lab to the Learning and Technology Training Center. When the Lab reopens, it will be on the 1st floor of the library. To reach the 1st floor, simply take the elevator down and then turn left.

The last log-in on the computers will be at 4:00pm and time will not be extended past 5:00pm.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience! Make sure you drop by the Grand Opening on September 30th from 3:30pm – 6:30pm. Learn more about the Grand Opening.

DW – E-Books: OverDrive, Zinio, OneClick LTTC Class

The LTTC is offering a E-Books: OverDrive, Zinio, and OneClick computer class on Thursday, September 18th at 10:30am

Basic knowledge of wireless devices and a library card is required. Learn how to access and download e-Books, audiobooks, and magazines on your wireless device. Please make sure to bring your wireless device along as well as Amazon account information for Kindle devices or apps, Apple ID information for Apple devices, and USB cables for Nooks. Registration is required for all LTTC classes.

DW – Gretchen Rubin’s Youtube Interview & Discussion – Happiness Project

Dalton-Whitfield Library’s The Happiness Project presents Gretchen Rubin’s Youtube Interview and Discussion: September 11th at 6pm

Join the library and other members of the community in watching author Gretchen Rubin’s Youtube Interview and then discussing the interview and her book, Project Happiness.
