CM – Polar Express Reading & Trains at Old Chatsworth Depot

Chatsworth-Murray Library is working with the Depot to offer Polar Express readings on December 5th, 2015 from 12:00pm – 4:00pm

Christmas is coming to the Old chatsworth Depot on Saturday, December 5th. Prior to the annual 6pm Christmas Parade through downtown, the historic Chatsworth train depot on First Avenue will be open from noon until 4:00pm/

Highlighting the afternoon will be model trains set up and running in the former freight room of the building, with readings of The Polar Express on the half hour. Train enthusiast Ted Yarbrough, and other members of the Georgia Garden Railway Society, will provide operating trains while other Depot Committee members will be on hand to give tours of the museum rooms of the Depot. Local educator Toby Westmoreland will do the readings.

Refreshments will be served and there could be a special someone with gifts for the children. The even is free for children 10 and under (must be accompanied by a paid adult), but a $2 donation for those ages 11 and up is requested with the proceeds going to the continued preservation of the Depot, Chatsworth’s oldest building. The event is co-sponsored by the Chatsworth-Murray County Library. For more information, call the library at 706-695-4200.
