CG – Middle School STEAM Activity

Calhoun-Gordon County Library is hosting a Middle School STEAM Activity on Tuesday, April 19th from 4:00pm – 5:30pm

We will be hosting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) Week at the library.

  • Monday – Elementary School Age
  • Tuesday – Middle School Age
  • Wednesday – High School Age
  • Friday – Adults, 18 and up

For Middle School, we’ll be learning about recycling and the role of recycling in Calhoun, our schools, and our home, and ways we can each become more involved in recycling efforts already in place. We will also practice the art of “repurposing” recyclables by making art with plastic, glass, and other recycling materials.

CG – Spring Book Sale

The Friends of Calhoun-Gordon County Library are hosting their semi-anual Book Sale April 14th & 15th from 1-6pm and April 16th from 10am – 2pm

There will be a special preview sale for Friends of the Library members on Wednesday April 13th from 4pm – 6pm. Join the Friends in supporting the Calhoun-Gordon County Library by purchasing used books.

The sale will be held in the Community Room at the library.

Learn how to set up an email, how to send and receive emails and how to add attachments to emails. Pre-registration is required as seats are limited.

Calhoun-Gordon County Library’s Board of Trustees will be meeting on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 4:30pm

The Board of Trustees helps determine budgets, policies, and so much more for the Calhoun-Gordon County Library. Their meetings are open to the public, so this is your opportunity to come and speak your piece. Board of Trustees meetings occur quarterly on the 2nd Tuesday of January, April, July, and October.

Calhoun-Gordon County Library presents an adult program: Financial Literacy for adults on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 4:00pm – 5:30pm

It’s important for people to be familiar with finances as student loans, mortgages, and credit cards become prevalent. Join Gary Lambert of Regions Bank in Calhoun as he teaches some financial literacy concepts.

Calhoun-Gordon County Library presents an Ancestry 102 computer class on March 16, 2016 from 10:30am – 11:45am

Ancestry.com Library Edition is a great resource for finding out genealogical information, including censuses, vital records, and forums. It is free when in the library. Pre-registration is required as seats are limited.
