CG – Talking Books

Calhoun-Gordon County Library presents an all ages class: Talking Books on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 starting at 4:30pm

Come Learn about talking books that are available for the physically and visually impaired. Georgia provides the GLASS (Georgia Libraries for Accessible Statewide Services) network, which offers FREE library services for indviduals who are unable to read standard print materials due to visual or physical impairment. They loan books and magazines in audio formats, Braille, and digital downloads. There are more than 70,000 titles accessible online and FREE delivery.

CG – Excel 102 Computer Class (Pre-Registration Required)

Calhoun-Gordon County Library presents a computer class: Excel 102 on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 10:30am – 11:45am

Excel is a Microsoft Office Product that is designed to help users with managing large amounts of data, especially numbers. It uses spreadsheets to help create budgets, track statistics and more. In the second class, we’ll learn about the basic functions, and how to use the spreadsheets to do simple math.

Pre-registration is required for all classes.

CG – How to Land a Job with a Great Application

Calhoun-Gordon County Library presents a teen and adult class: How to Land a Job with a Great Application on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 4:00pm and 5:30pm and Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 10:00am – 11:30am

Join Mohawk Industries Recruiter Karli Land, who will be sharing the ins and outs of the basic job application and what hiring managers are looking for. This awesome free class is sponsored by Mohawk Industries.

Calhoun-Gordon County Library presents a computer class: Job & Career Accelerator on Wednesday, May 11th, 2016 from 10:30am – 11:45am

Job & Career Accelerator provides personalized step-by-step job search assistance, including information about different types of occupations, job searching, and resume builders.

CM – Regional Board of Trustees Meeting

Northwest Georgia Regional Library System’s Board of Trustees will be meeting on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 5:00pm

The Board of Trustees helps determine budgets, policies, and so much more for the three libraries in the Northwest Georgia Regional Library System. Their meetings are open to the public, so this is your opportunity to come and speak your piece. Board of Trustees meetings occur quarterly on the 4th Tuesday of the January, April, July, and October.

The Regional meetings take place in alternating libraries. April’s meeting will be at Chatsworth-Murray Branch.

CG – Teen & Adult Sexual Assault & Prevention Awareness

Calhoun-Gordon County Library will be visited by Police Sergeant Tom Petty for an informational class on Sexual Assault & Prevention Awareness on Monday, April 25th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm

Teens and Adults are invited to come hear about how you can remain safe, defend yourself, and what kinds of events should be reported, etc. Please note, this is not a self-defense class. This class is in honor of April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
