CG – Excel 101 Computer Class (Pre-registration Required)

Calhoun-Gordon County Library presents a computer class: Excel 101 on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 10:30am – 11:45am

Excel is a Microsoft Office Product that is designed to help users with managing large amounts of data, especially numbers. It uses spreadsheets to help create budgets, track statistics and more. Come learn about the parts of a spreadsheet in this first class.

Job & Career Accelerator provides personalized step-by-step job search assistance, including information about different types of occupations, job searching, and resume builders.

Calhoun-Gordon County Library presents a computer class: LearningExpress Library on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 10:30am – 11:45am

LearningExpress Library features more than 1,000 practice tests and skills tutorials for elementary school through adult learners. This includes a library of test-preparation and skills-building eBooks.

CG – Teen & Adult Sexual Assault & Prevention Awareness

Calhoun-Gordon County Library will be visited by Police Sergeant Tom Petty for an informational class on Sexual Assault & Prevention Awareness on Monday, April 25th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm

Teens and Adults are invited to come hear about how you can remain safe, defend yourself, and what kinds of events should be reported, etc. Please note, this is not a self-defense class. This class is in honor of April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

CG – Adult STEAM Activity

Calhoun-Gordon County Library is hosting an Adult STEAM Activity on Friday, April 22nd from 4:00pm – 5:30pm

We will be hosting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) Week at the library.

  • Monday – Elementary School Age
  • Tuesday – Middle School Age
  • Wednesday – High School Age
  • Friday – Adults, 18 and up

For Adults, we’ll hear Jayanth Manay, a member of Calhoun Recycling Coalition, share “How to Recycle” as well as highlight some of the recycling that is already going on in Calhoun. He will also share how these recycling companies affect our economy and provide jobs.

CG – Spring Book Sale

The Friends of Calhoun-Gordon County Library are hosting their semi-anual Book Sale April 14th & 15th from 1-6pm and April 16th from 10am – 2pm

There will be a special preview sale for Friends of the Library members on Wednesday April 13th from 4pm – 6pm. Join the Friends in supporting the Calhoun-Gordon County Library by purchasing used books.

The sale will be held in the Community Room at the library.

Learn how to set up an email, how to send and receive emails and how to add attachments to emails. Pre-registration is required as seats are limited.

Calhoun-Gordon County Library’s Board of Trustees will be meeting on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 4:30pm

The Board of Trustees helps determine budgets, policies, and so much more for the Calhoun-Gordon County Library. Their meetings are open to the public, so this is your opportunity to come and speak your piece. Board of Trustees meetings occur quarterly on the 2nd Tuesday of January, April, July, and October.
