Learn how to identify the basic parts of a computer, mouse basics, opening and closing programs. No computer experience necessary for Computer Basics classes.

DW – Teen Fandom Friday: Doctor Who

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be hosting a teen Fandom Friday: Doctor Who on Friday, April 29, 2016, from 4:30pm – 5:30pm

This is a free event with all materials provided. Teens in grades 6th – 12th only, please.

CM – Regional Board of Trustees Meeting

Northwest Georgia Regional Library System’s Board of Trustees will be meeting on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 5:00pm

The Board of Trustees helps determine budgets, policies, and so much more for the three libraries in the Northwest Georgia Regional Library System. Their meetings are open to the public, so this is your opportunity to come and speak your piece. Board of Trustees meetings occur quarterly on the 4th Tuesday of the January, April, July, and October.

The Regional meetings take place in alternating libraries. April’s meeting will be at Chatsworth-Murray Branch.

DW – Kids Creation Station

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be hosting a kids program: Creation Station on Thursday, April 28, 2016, from 4:00pm – 5:00pm

This month, our topic is engineering. After some discussion, we’ll work in teams to participate in an egg drop challenge. Work together and use critical thinking skills and creative ingenuity to build a container that will protect an egg from a high fall. Participation is limited to 30 children and is first come, first served. No sign-up or early registration. This is a free event and all materials are provided. Kids from kindergarten to 5th grade only, please.

Note: Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class.

DW – LTTC Facebook 102: Social Media Computer Class

Dalton-Whitfield County Library’s LTTC presents a Social Media Computer Class: Facebook 102 on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 11:00am – 12:30pm

Learn how to add friends, and then how to share, post, and message them. Basic computer skills and an email address are required for this class.

Dalton-Whitfield County Library’s LTTC presents a Social Media Computer Class: Facebook 101 on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 11:00am – 12:30pm

Create a Facebook account and edit your security settings. Basic computer skills and an email address are required for this class.

CG – Teen & Adult Sexual Assault & Prevention Awareness

Calhoun-Gordon County Library will be visited by Police Sergeant Tom Petty for an informational class on Sexual Assault & Prevention Awareness on Monday, April 25th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm

Teens and Adults are invited to come hear about how you can remain safe, defend yourself, and what kinds of events should be reported, etc. Please note, this is not a self-defense class. This class is in honor of April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

CG – Teen Poetry Contest (April 1st – April 23rd)

Calhoun-Gordon County Library is having a Teen Poetry Contest starting April 1, 2016 and ending April 23, 2016 at 3:00pm

or brought to the Calhoun-Gordon County Library. Entries are due by 3:00pm on April 23, 2016.

The winner will be announced by April 29, 2016 and a prize will be awarded.

Any form of poetry is acceptable and all entries must include:
