Dalton-Whitfield County Library will hosting an event for kids and teens of all ages: STEM Challenge on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 starting at 12:00pm
The STEM Challenge is an event for children of all ages! Children and teens from birth to 12th grade are encouraged to come and take part in activities that will encourage critical thinking skills, teamwork, and creative ingenuity. From there, the children will be broken up into groups according to their age/grade level. Once in their groups, they will be given challenges that will encourage them to work together to complete certain tasks.
We will have special guests in attendance that day to kick-off the event, including:
- Richard Woods, State School Superintendent
- Matt Jones, Chief of Staff
- Caitlin Dooley, Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction
- Julie Walker, State Librarian
- other community members dedicated to learning and literacy!
Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be hosting an adult event: Coloring Time on Tuesday June 14, 2016 and Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 3:00pm – 6:30pm
Drop by any time between 3pm and 6:30pm to enjoy free coloring pages, quiet music, and coffee. Enjoy some time to de-stress. This is a free event with all materials provided. Adults ages 18 and up only, please.
