DW – YA Booksgiving / Booksgiving para Adolescentes

Dalton-Whitfield County Library presents a teen event: Booksgiving on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 4:30pm

Take part in a book-tasting! A prize will be drawn for one participant to win a selection of YA books. Hot cocoa will be served with light refreshments. Teens in grades 6-12.

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)! Adults are encouraged to drop by and work on their aspiring novels in a nice, quiet space.

Learn how to set up a Gmail address to receive electronic mail. Basic computer skills required.

Food For Fines 2016

All Northwest Georgia Regional Libraries will be participating in Food for Fines from November 1st – November 22nd

If you have fines on your library card but can’t quite get them paid, this is a great way to reduce those fines while helping others in need. Bring a non-perishable food item to the library and receive $1.00 off your fines. Food items must not be expired. Food items may not be able to help with lost or damaged items fees.

Food will be donated to the following locations, based on the library it is brought to:

  • Calhoun-Gordon County Library: Voluntary Action Center of Calhoun, Georgia
  • Chatsworth-Murray County Library: Helping Hands Food Pantry
  • Dalton-Whitfield County Library: City of Refuge

DW – Tiempos de cuentos (en español)

La biblioteca de Dalton-Whitfield presenta un programa para los niños en español: Tiempo de cuentos sábado, el 3 de diciembre y el 10 de diciembre a las 11:00 de la mañana

Este programa se ofrece 2-3 veces por mes por los sábados variados según el horario. Leemos 2-3 cuentos en español y hacemos una actividad divertida. Este programa lleva a cabo completamente en español.

DW – Adult Coloring Time / Tiempo para Colorear por Adultos (November 2016)

Dalton-Whitfield County Library will be hosting an adult event: Coloring Time on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 and Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 3:00pm – 6:30pm

Drop by any time between 3pm and 6:30pm to enjoy free coloring pages, quiet music, and coffee. Enjoy some time to de-stress. This is a free event with all materials provided. Adults ages 18 and up only, please.

Dalton-Whitfield County Library presents a teen event: Vampire STEM on Friday, October 28, 2016 beginning at 4:30pm

A vampire has attacked in the library. Use forensic science skills to determine who the vampire is! Pre-registration is required. Teens in grades 6th-12th.
