The Science Showcase is appropriate for all ages and is filled with demonstrations for different kinds of science, from electricity to chemistry, in a form sure to dazzle children of all ages. Kids from 0 to rising 5th graders will get to participate in a summer full of reading, science, and fun in our Summer Reading Club. Most events will be on Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. at the Calhoun Depot located across the railroad tracks from the library.

Whitfield County’s Sheriff Department will be sending over a crime scene investigator to talk about what he does for a living. Teens will be able to ask questions, see evidence, and learn how crimes are investigated in real life. Choose your colors of polymer clay to make your own handmade beads. After the beads are baked, we will use them to create a one-of-a-kind bracelet for you to take home. Sign-up is required.

Teens 11 to 13 can come to the coffee house and enjoy some snacks. Teen writers can share a mystery story or poem, or readers can read from stories they enjoy. Age-appropriate stories, please.

CM – Recycled Crafting Story Time

Chatsworth-Murray Library presents Recycled Crafting Story Time: July 9th at 10:30 am

Join Sandi Adams of Keep Murray County Beautiful as she leads a story time about recycled crafting! Look forward to hands-on crafts.

Story Times are at 10:30 am on every Wednesday. Please note that story time sessions are regularly scheduled for the general public and are for kids from 2-12 years old. An adult must remain with children attending story time. If a child engages in disruptive behavior, the adult must remove him/her from the session.

We now have a picnic table built by Boy Scouts Troup 75 with materials donated by Bradley Ace Hardware for an outdoor activity area. Story Time will never be the same!

Ken Panse has been working with exotic animals for over twenty years and is eager to share his passion with children through educational presentations. Children will be able to get up close and personal with some of the animals, when possible, while learning about their habitats, dietary needs, and distinct behaviors. DW – Fine Freedom – 7/7

Dalton-Whitfield Library will be hosting a Fine “Freedom” Day! July 7th, all day long!

Ever been scared about the fines on a book/movie/CD you’ve kept way over its overdue date? July 7th is the day to bring the item in! We will forgive any overdue fees for items returned on July 7th at the Dalton-Whitfield library. This does not include any fees for damages.

We look forward to seeing you after Independence day with your overdue books, movies, music and more!
