Learn the basics of object-oriented programming with Python®. Teens will receive an introduction to the language and create their first program. Object-oriented programming is the root of other programming languages, including Java. Workstations will be available for the first 20 teens to register.

Rising 6th graders to rising 12th graders will get to participate in a summer full of reading, art, and fun with our Summer Reading Program. Most events will be on Thursdays at 3:00pm at the library.

CM – Guest Reader Story Time

Chatsworth-Murray Library presents a guest reader coming for Story Time: July 23rd at 10:30 am

13-year-old Samuel Pankey will be coming in to read Skippyjohn Jones to everyone!

Story Times are at 10:30 am on every Wednesday. Please note that story time sessions are regularly scheduled for the general public and are for kids from 2-12 years old. An adult must remain with children attending story time. If a child engages in disruptive behavior, the adult must remove him/her from the session.

We now have a picnic table built by Boy Scouts Troup 75 with materials donated by Bradley Ace Hardware for an outdoor activity area. Story Time will never be the same!

Artist Tammy Pryce creates beautiful clay sculptures of dragons with steampunk elements. She’ll teach teens the basics of working with polymer clay and then let them loose to create. From sonic screwdrivers to zombies to jewelry, if teens can imagine it, they can try to make it. Projects can be taken home to bake. CM – Author Signing

Chatsworth-Murray’s Friends of the Library will be hosting a author signing with Rhett Turner on the Courthouse lawn: Wednesday, July 16th from 3pm – 5pm.

Join Rhett Turner for a book signing on the Murray County Courthouse’s lawn. The courthouse is featured on the front cover. Anthologies will be available for purchase from the Friends of the Library for $30.00 and are also available at local retail stores. See the image below for more information.

The Science Showcase is appropriate for all ages and is filled with demonstrations for different kinds of science, from electricity to chemistry, in a form sure to dazzle children of all ages.
